Continuous-Thread (CT) Aluminum Caps

A continuous-thread (CT) cap is the familiar screw cap: a continuous helical thread inside the skirt mates with the thread on the bottle finish, giving a simple, resealable closure for standard glass and PET bottles. Making the shell from aluminum gives it a solid feel and a metal look that sets oils, vinegars and spirits apart from a plain plastic cap.

The seal itself comes from the liner — PE foam, PV or PTFE-faced — which presses against the bottle land when the cap is torqued down. We select the liner to suit your product.

Our CT aluminum caps close olive and seed oils, vinegars and dressings, spirits and liqueurs, syrups and sauces, and pharmaceutical and nutraceutical liquids. Cosmetic and personal-care brands use them on toners, oils and refill bottles where a metal finish suits the range. Because CT finishes are standardized by diameter and thread style, one cap can serve several bottle shapes in a product line, which is useful for private-label bottlers and brands running multiple sizes.

The shell is drawn from aluminum sheet and threaded to a standard CT profile from 18 mm to 53 mm, with different thread starts available. A liner is then inserted: PE foam for general liquids, PV for dry and low-risk products, PTFE-faced for aggressive oils, solvents and high-alcohol spirits. Plain and tamper-evident band versions are both available. Finishes include silver, gold, black and matte lacquer, plus lithographed print and embossed tops.

Apply CT caps at the torque suited to the size and liner — enough to compress the liner without stripping the thread or deforming the shell. Thread size and style must match the bottle finish exactly; a 28 mm cap does not fit every 28 mm bottle. Hand capping works for small batches, while chuck cappers handle line speeds. Shells are drawn and threaded from lithographed or lacquered aluminum, then lined and inspected. Thread accuracy and liner placement are our key quality checks. We offer stock colors from inventory as well as custom lacquer, printed top and side decoration and embossed logos for branded runs. Caps ship bulk-bagged in cartons, and we can supply matching bottles from our range so cap and finish arrive as a matched pair.
