A double-wall candle glass has two glass layers with an air gap between them. The gap slows heat transfer from the burning wax to the outer surface, so the outside stays noticeably cooler than a single-wall jar, and the candle seems to float inside a clear outer shell.
The construction is more involved than a standard tumbler, so it is usually reserved for luxury, gifting and design-led ranges where both the look and the cooler touch justify the cost.
We supply double-wall glasses for luxury container candles, designer home-fragrance lines, spa and wellness candles, hotel amenity programs and gift collections. The cooler outer wall also makes the format popular for massage candles, where the vessel is picked up while the wax is warm. After use, the glass works well as a tumbler for drinks or as a decorative holder.
The inner well holds the wax and wick and is joined to the outer wall at the rim, enclosing a sealed air gap. Decoration such as frosting, spray color or printing goes on the outer wall and never touches the wax. We match the inner-well diameter to your wax and wick, and capacity is quoted as the usable volume of the inner well.
Pour wax into the inner well warm, with the glass at room temperature. The air gap reduces outer-wall temperature, but it is not a substitute for correct wicking: size the wick so the flame and inner well stay within normal limits, and burn-test the finished candle to its full burn time. Double-wall glass is bulkier than a single-wall jar of the same fill, which affects packing and freight.
Double-wall glass is produced by joining two formed walls and sealing the air gap, followed by careful annealing. Our checks focus on the integrity of the rim seal, the absence of moisture inside the gap and consistent inner-well dimensions. Frosting, spray color, printing and foil are available on the outer wall. Send us your fill volume and design and we’ll quote with samples.
