Double-Wall Plastic Smooth Caps

A double-wall cap is built in two layers: an inner molded part that carries the thread and does the sealing, and a smooth outer shell that slips over it. The point is appearance — the outer wall hides the thread, the parting lines and the functional detail, presenting a clean, seamless, weighty surface that reads as premium on a cosmetic bottle or jar.

That smooth outer canvas is also ideal for decoration: hot stamping, metallization, soft-touch coating and rich colors all sit crisply on it, which is why double-wall caps dominate premium beauty packaging.

An inner threaded part (PP/PE) that engages the bottle or jar finish, inside a smooth outer shell, sometimes with a weighted insert for extra hand-feel. Sealing is by a liner or, on jars, an inner disc. Gloss, matte, metallized and soft-touch finishes, plus hot stamping and in-mold color, give the premium look.

Match the inner thread to the bottle or jar finish and apply at controlled torque so the liner or inner disc seals without the outer shell slipping. Confirm liner and any metallized or coated surface compatibility with the formula and with fragrance, which can attack some coatings. The smooth shell should be protected from scuffing in handling.

The inner and outer parts are injection-molded separately and assembled, with liners inserted and any weighted insert added. Decoration (hot stamp, metallize, spray) is applied to the outer shell. Thread fit, assembly of the two walls and decoration quality are the key checks.
