Eggshell Thin-Wall Candle Vessels

A thin-walled, eggshell-light candle vessel is a study in subtlety. The fine wall and soft matte, pastel or opal finish let candlelight glow gently through the glass rather than being contained by it, and the lightness in the hand feels refined and considered.

It is aimed at minimalist and design-led ranges where restraint is the look, and the gentle curve of the sides keeps the form soft and organic.

The vessel has a thin, evenly distributed wall, gently curved sides and a soft finish applied by spray coating or acid etching. The wall thickness is the defining feature and the main engineering consideration: it gives the light, translucent glow but requires careful forming and annealing. Mouth diameter and recommended wick are matched conservatively so the glass is not overheated.

Thin glass is more sensitive to thermal stress, so pour wax warm into vessels held at room temperature and avoid cold rooms during filling and curing. Wick conservatively so the flame and melt pool stay well within normal limits, and burn-test the finished candle to its full burn time. Thin-wall vessels need gentle handling on the line and well-divided cartons.

Vessels are formed to a fine, even wall, where consistent glass distribution is critical, then annealed thoroughly before the matte, pastel or opal finish is applied.
