Its thin depth and rounded oval faces let it slide flat into a handbag, clutch or jacket pocket, which is why it is the go-to bottle for purse sprays and travel fragrance. It remains one of the most enduring fragrance silhouettes because it balances elegance with everyday practicality.
Typical uses are purse and travel sprays, eau de parfum and eau de toilette, body and hair mists, refillable fragrance, gift sets and discovery sizes. The shape spans niche and designer fragrance and is common in duty-free, where compact sizes sell alongside full-size bottles. A 10 ml or 20 ml flat oval makes an elegant companion piece in a gift set, while 50 ml and 100 ml sizes work as the main retail bottle.
The flat oval body carries an FEA 15 crimp neck for a standard spray pump and overcap. The broad faces are both the main decoration area and the main strength consideration, since flat glass flexes more than round, so generous edge and corner radii are built in to add rigidity. Frosting, spray coating and hot stamping are the most common finishes, and the large faces take screen printing very well.
Fragrance is filled cold and the spray pump is crimped on afterwards; crimp quality sets both the seal and spray performance. A leak-tight crimp is especially important for a bottle designed to be carried in a bag. Because the bottle is narrow, it can need guides or pucks on high-speed filling lines.
