Geometric glass globes, faceted forms with a side opening and a loop to hang them, have become a modern décor staple for displaying air plants and succulents and for holding hanging tealights. Suspended at eye level, the facets catch the light and frame whatever sits inside.
The format blurs the line between terrarium, lantern and ornament, which is exactly its appeal in contemporary interiors and event styling.
We supply terrarium globes to plant shops, garden centers, giftware and homeware brands, and wedding and event decorators. They are used as air-plant and succulent displays, moss terrariums, hanging tealight lanterns and window or ceiling decorations. Retailers often sell them as kits with plants, sand and moss, and event planners hang them in clusters at different heights over tables, aisles and entrances.
The globe is a faceted polyhedron with a circular side opening for planting or placing a tealight, and a glass loop at the top for a cord or chain. We offer it as a one-piece molded globe, which is easy to clean, or as flat glass panels joined with brass, black or copper edging for a more architectural look. The opening is sized for hand access.
As a terrarium it suits air plants, succulents and moss, which need light and airflow rather than a sealed environment. Hang it from a hook rated for the loaded weight using a cord or chain that suits the loop. If used with a tealight, keep it away from fabrics and foliage, never leave it lit unattended, and remember that metal edging can get hot.
Molded globes are formed and annealed; paneled globes are assembled from cut glass panels joined with soldered metal edging. We check edge integrity, loop strength and a clean, smooth opening, and pack each globe individually. Sizes, edging finishes and tints can be specified, and we can supply cords or chains with the globes. Tell us your size and use and we’ll send samples.
