In prestige skincare, weight reads as quality, and a heavy-base serum bottle delivers that cue by concentrating glass in a thick base. The bottle sits solidly on a vanity and feels substantial in the hand, while the treatment pump on top dispenses a precise micro-dose — typically a fraction of a milliliter — which suits serums where a little goes a long way.
We supply the bottle with matching pumps and overcaps from 15 ml to 100 ml.
Typical fills are facial serums, anti-aging concentrates, treatment essences, vitamin C and other active serums, lightweight emulsions, and hair or scalp serums. The format is a mainstay of prestige retail skincare, dermatology and aesthetic-clinic ranges, and spa back-bar and retail lines, where the combination of a metered pump and a weighted bottle signals a high-value, carefully formulated product. Smaller sizes suit eye serums and travel kits.
A thick, weighted base sits under a flint, frosted, amber or spray-coated body, finished with an 18–24 mm pump thread. The treatment pump delivers a controlled dose, commonly between 0.1 and 0.5 cc, with a lock-down actuator and a clip-on overcap for travel. Pump collars can be finished in matte, shiny or metallized looks to match the decoration on the glass.
Serums are filled cold. Headspace and dip-tube length are matched to the bottle so the pump primes quickly and empties the bottle as completely as possible. Pump and gasket materials should suit the formula, particularly for high-active or oil-rich serums. For oxygen- or light-sensitive actives such as vitamin C, consider amber glass or an airless system instead of a standard pump. Share your formula and target dose and we’ll pair a pump and cut the dip tube to suit.
The bottle is formed by blow-and-blow or press-and-blow, with the heavy base built into the mold. Careful annealing relieves stress in the thick base. The pump is a separate multi-part component matched to the neck, and finishes are gauged so it seals and primes. Decoration options include frosting, spray coating in solid or gradient colors, screen printing, hot stamping and labels, with pumps supplied fitted or bagged.
