Heavy-Base Reed Diffuser Bottles

A reed diffuser scents a room without a flame: rattan or fiber reeds stand in fragrance oil, draw it up and release it into the air. The bottle needs a narrow neck so only a few reeds are exposed, which controls the throw, and a heavy base so a top-heavy bottle full of reeds will not tip.

Because the bottle stays on display for weeks, its look matters as much as its function.

The square body sits on a thick, weighted glass base that lowers the center of gravity and gives the bottle a substantial feel. A narrow screw neck holds an LDPE reducer plug and a screw cap for transit; the plug limits evaporation and both come off when the reeds go in. Flint glass shows the oil color, while frosting or spray color suits a softer look.

Diffuser bases are usually a solvent such as DPG or an alcohol blend carrying the fragrance, and some solvents attack certain plastics. We supply reducer plugs and caps in solvent-resistant materials and recommend a short leak and compatibility test with your actual oil. Fill cold, seat the plug firmly before capping, and advise end users to protect furniture from oil drips when placing reeds.

Bottles are formed with the heavy base built into the mold and a precisely gauged bore so the reducer plug seals for transport.
