Iridescent Holographic Glass Candle Cups

An iridescent coating splits light into rainbow tones that shift with the viewing angle, turning a plain tumbler into an eye-catching object. With a candle inside, the flame animates the effect; on the shelf, the cup sells itself on appearance.

This is decoration aimed squarely at novelty, gift and trend-led ranges, where standing out and looking good on social media matter more than a classic, restrained look.

Retailers use them to add color and sparkle to a candle wall, and many end customers keep the empty cup as a decorative holder, pen pot or small vase. The cup is a straight tumbler with a solid base, coated on the outside with an iridescent or holographic layer and cured. The coating never touches the wax. Applied over flint glass it gives the brightest light play; over tinted glass it reads as a deeper, pearl-like shimmer. Coating density can be adjusted from a light sheen to a strong rainbow effect.

Pour wax warm into cups held at room temperature to avoid thermal shock. The coating sits on the outside, so protect it from scuffing on the line and in packing. Choose a wick that keeps the flame and melt pool well below the rim, since excessive heat at the top edge can mark the coating. Burn-test the finished candle in the coated cup before launch.

Cups are press-and-blow formed and annealed, then coated and cured in a decorating lehr. We inspect coating evenness, adhesion, rim quality and base stability, and pack with dividers to protect the finish. Screen printing or foil can be added over the coating for logos.
