Maru simply means round, and the maru bottle is the clean, rounded everyday-to-premium sake bottle that lets the drink and the label do the talking. It bottles the traditional gō-based volumes — the 720 ml yongō above all — in a timeless, unfussy shape.
Its neutral form is a deliberate choice: where some sake uses dramatic shapes or heavy frosting, the maru relies on balance and a well-designed label, which is why it spans everyday and premium tiers.
Premium and everyday sake, shochu, umeshu and craft rice spirits. It serves retail bottling, restaurant and izakaya service, gift and seasonal sets, and export, where the classic form reads clearly as Japanese sake.
A round body with balanced proportions, finished for ROPP, a guala pourer or a cork. The even round section makes the bottle robust and easy to lightweight. Flint shows the sake's clarity; amber or tinted glass adds light protection for delicate brews.
Sake is filled cold and is sensitive to light and heat, so amber or tinted glass and cool storage protect flavor, especially for unpasteurised (nama) sake. Fill height and label registration matter for the vertical labels typical of the category. The neck finish is gauged for the closure used.
Formed by blow-and-blow or NNPB; the round body is defined in the molds and is well suited to even glass distribution. Annealed and coated, with the finish gauged for ROPP, guala or cork.
