Overview & background
A bar-top or T-cork is a stopper made for bottles that are opened and closed many times rather than once. A compressible cork or synthetic shank seals the bottle bore, while a wooden, plastic or metal head sits on top to grip and pull — and to re-insert just as easily. The familiar 'pop' on opening is part of the ritual for premium spirits.
Natural cork brings tradition and a slight breathability; synthetic (TPE) shanks give very consistent dimensions and sealing and avoid cork taint, so the choice depends on the product, shelf life and brand story.
