Overview
A bar-top or T-cork is a stopper made for bottles that are opened and closed many times rather than once. A compressible shank of natural cork or synthetic material seals the bottle bore, while a wooden, plastic or metal head sits on top to grip, pull and re-insert. The soft ‘pop’ on opening is part of the ritual for spirits and liqueurs.
Natural cork brings tradition and a slight breathability; synthetic TPE shanks give consistent dimensions and avoid cork taint. The right choice depends on your product, shelf life and brand story.
Applications & Industries

Design & Construction
The shank — natural cork, agglomerated cork or synthetic TPE — is bonded to a head of wood, plastic, metal or a combination, with shank diameter matched to the bottle bore. Heads are turned, molded or cast, then left natural or stained, painted, metallized, printed or engraved. Many craft brands wax-dip the neck over the head for a hand-finished look; the wax is decorative, while the shank does the sealing.
Filling, Sealing & Use
Match the shank diameter to the bottle bore for a firm but workable fit: too tight and the cork is hard to open or the head can separate, too loose and it leaks or weeps. Store and ship spirits upright, since prolonged high-alcohol contact can soften some heads and adhesives. Send us your bottle neck drawing and we’ll recommend a shank size and material and supply samples to test.
Manufacturing & Customization
Natural shanks are punched from cork bark or molded from agglomerated granules; synthetic shanks are extruded or molded from TPE. Heads are turned, molded or die-cast, then bonded to the shank and decorated. Shank dimensions, bond strength and head finish are our key quality checks. We brand heads by hot stamping, laser engraving or printing, and supply corks bulk-bagged in cartons by bore size.
