Many color cosmetics today are bought and shared because they look fun, and a lip-shaped or figural tube leans straight into that. The novelty form makes a lip oil or gloss feel playful and giftable and gives it standout appeal on social media, while the cap still carries a normal doe-foot or wand applicator so it works exactly like a standard gloss.
The novelty is in the shape; the dispensing is conventional, so the product stays practical to use.
Typical fills are lip oils and glosses, lip tints and stains, plumping glosses and other liquid lip products. The format is aimed at gift and novelty cosmetics, teen and youth beauty, influencer and social-first brands, and seasonal or limited-edition drops such as Valentine’s collections. Small sizes also work well in advent calendars, gift sets and influencer seeding kits sent out ahead of a launch.
A lip-shaped or wavy figural body has a slim screw neck for an applicator cap and a press-in wiper. The shape is defined in a dedicated mold, with a stable base built into the design. Spray coating in pinks and reds, tinting, screen printing and hot stamping complete the look, and clear glass lets the color of the gloss show through the curves. The wiper meters the doe-foot or wand load.
Tubes are filled cold, with fill level set so the applicator reaches the product as the tube empties and allowing for applicator displacement. Applicator, wiper and liner materials should suit the gloss or oil formula. Figural shapes can have thin or protruding features, and irregular bodies may need custom pucks on the filling line. We’ll advise on line handling and supply fitted samples for pickup tests.
The tube is formed by blow-and-blow in a custom mold, with attention to glass distribution in thin areas. The applicator cap and wiper are separate components matched to the neck, decoration is applied after forming, and the neck is gauged so the cap seals and the wiper seats. We can adapt existing figural molds or develop a new shape, and color-match spray coatings and caps to your collection.
