Octagonal Embossed Tealight Cups

Octagonal embossed cups recall the pressed glass of earlier eras, when molded facets and relief gave affordable glass a decorative richness. As tealight and votive holders they put that detail to work on light: the eight faces and embossed ribs and dots break the flame into faceted glints across a table.

It is a low-cost way to give a small candle a vintage, characterful look.

Event planners buy them in volume for long tables, and candle brands use them for poured votive sets. End customers often keep them as small holders for tealights, succulents or desk items, which keeps the pattern in view long after the event.

The cup has eight flat faces, each embossed with vertical ribs and raised dots, above a thick, flat base. The interior is sized to take a standard tealight or a poured votive. As with any faceted glass, the corners are where wall thickness matters most, and our tooling is designed to keep them sound. Tinting, frosting or smoked glass adds color without losing the pattern.

Use with a tealight insert or pour votive wax warm into cups at room temperature. In a small cup the flame is close to the wall, so a modest wick keeps the melt pool controlled and the glass within normal temperatures. Burn on a heat-safe surface away from drafts. The faceted corners are the points most sensitive to knocks, so handle and pack accordingly.

Cups are pressed or press-and-blow formed in a patterned mold and annealed. Our checks cover wall thickness through the facets, base stability, a smooth rim and tealight fit. Amber, gray and colored tints, frosting and smoked glass are available, and we can develop a custom emboss pattern on new tooling.
