Octagonal embossed cups recall the pressed glass of earlier eras, when molded facets and relief patterns gave inexpensive glass a decorative richness. As tealight and votive holders they put that to work on light: the eight facets and embossed detail break the flame into faceted, patterned glints across a table.
It is a low-cost way to give a candle a vintage, characterful look, which is why the format recurs in table, event and seasonal ranges.
Tealight and votive candles, table and event décor, weddings and celebrations, seasonal and festive candles, restaurant ambience and gift homeware. The cups are commonly kept and reused as small holders.
A small octagonal cup with embossed relief and an open mouth, used with a tealight or filled with votive wax. The facets and emboss are molded in; tinting, frosting or smoking add color. As with any faceted glass, even wall at the corners is the forming consideration.
Used with a tealight or poured with votive wax (warm, into a room-temperature cup). As a small vessel, correct wicking keeps the flame and the thin patterned wall within safe temperatures. Burn on a heat-safe surface and away from drafts; faceted corners are the impact-sensitive points.
Press-and-blow or pressed forming with a patterned mold creates the octagon and emboss, then annealed. Tinting or frosting is applied after. Wall thickness through the facets, base stability and rim quality are the QC focus.
