About the Paragon Tall Cylinder Jars
Background, typical uses and selection points for this product. We can send model drawings, technical data and samples to support your evaluation.
Overview
Most food jars are squat and stable; the Paragon deliberately goes the other way and makes height its design statement. The slim, vertical body looks contemporary and premium and works especially well for products meant to be seen in layers from the side.
It is also the natural jar for long-format foods — asparagus spears, whole vegetables and garnishes — that simply won’t fit a standard jar.
Applications & Industries
Layered preserves, asparagus and other whole vegetables, olives and pickles, sauces and passata, premium dry goods and cocktail garnishes. Delis and specialty retailers favor the tall jar for its shelf presence.
The format also photographs well for online retail, where a distinctive silhouette helps a product stand out as a thumbnail. Bars use the larger sizes for olives, cherries and garnishes behind the counter.
Design & Construction
The Paragon is a round cylinder taken tall, with a lug or CT mouth. The round section keeps glass distribution even, but the height raises the center of gravity, so the base footprint and wall balance are designed for stability on the line.
A tall wrap label is part of the look, so bodies are made for good verticality and labels go on straight over the full height.
Filling, Sealing & Use
Tall jars are more prone to tipping on a filling line and in the case, so set up guides and carton partitions accordingly. For pasteurized wet fills, use a plastisol-lined lug cap with consistent headspace; the taller liquid column makes fill-level accuracy worth checking.
When packing long vegetables, load carefully to protect both the product and the rim, and check that spears sit below the fill line so they stay covered by brine.
Manufacturing & Customization
The Paragon is press-and-blow formed, and tall, slim shapes need a well-tuned forming cycle to keep the wall even over the full height. Annealing and base inspection focus on stress relief and stable seating, which matter on a jar handled upright and full.
We can supply tall wrap labels, screen printing and printed caps, and size cartons to the jar height. Ask us for samples in the capacities you’re considering.
