Molding a pattern straight into the glass is one of the most cost-effective ways to make a beverage bottle distinctive. Origami faceting takes the idea furthest: angular, folded panels catch and break up the light, add grip and signal a premium drink without any printing or applied decoration.
Because the texture is in the glass itself, it lasts for the life of the bottle and makes the brand recognizable from across the aisle.
We supply faceted bottles for premium soft drinks, sparkling juices, ready-to-drink cocktails, flavored and sparkling waters, tonics, mixers, energy drinks and craft sodas. The look works especially well in clear glass with a brightly colored drink, where the facets multiply the color. Brands also use it for gift packs and limited editions that need to stand apart from the core range.
The finish is chosen for the drink: a 26 mm crown or ROPP finish for carbonated products, and a 28 mm PCO or CT finish for still drinks. The facets and ribs slightly vary wall thickness, so our tooling keeps the wall sound where the relief is deepest. Labels sit best on a smooth band, and a shrink sleeve can follow the faceted shape for full coverage.
Match the finish and closure to the product: carbonated drinks need a pressure-capable finish and counter-pressure filling, while still drinks can use a simple CT cap. Raised relief takes impact on its high points, so avoid hard glass-to-glass contact on the line and use partitions in the case.

These bottles are formed by blow-and-blow or NNPB in a patterned blow mold that creates the facets with the body. Keeping wall thickness even through the relief is the main forming challenge, followed by annealing, coating and finish gauging.
We can develop your own facet or rib pattern on a custom mold, and add frosting, tints or screen print to the standard design.
