A spice jar has two jobs: keep the contents dry and aromatic, and make them easy to identify at a glance. A square glass jar with a natural bamboo lid does both — clear glass shows the spice, and the bamboo top gives a warm, tactile, natural look.
Bamboo has become the lid material of choice on premium ranges because it grows quickly, takes laser engraving well and reads as eco-friendly, replacing older metal and plastic shaker tops.
Ground and whole spices, dried herbs, seasoning blends and rubs, salts, peppercorns, chili flakes, baking sprinkles and loose teas. The format is popular for matched rack sets and for refill and zero-waste ranges where the jar is meant to be kept and topped up.
Because square jars line up so neatly, they are also a favorite for drawer inserts, wall racks and kitchen-organization gift sets.
The wide CT neck takes a two-part system: an optional plastic sift-and-pour insert with flip apertures sits in the mouth, and the bamboo lid screws over it. A silicone ring inside the lid seals against moisture and aroma loss.
The square body gives flat label panels and dense packing. Some ranges skip the front label altogether and identify each spice with a laser-engraved lid.
Spices are filled dry and cold, so glass stress isn’t a concern — moisture is. The jar, insert and lid seal need to keep humidity out, and filling should take place in a dry environment.
Bamboo lids should be wiped clean rather than soaked or put in a dishwasher, which can crack or warp the wood. For light-sensitive spices such as paprika or chili, recommend storage away from direct light, or choose amber glass.
The glass jar is press-and-blow formed with its square section and wide mouth. The bamboo lid is a separate natural-material component, turned or machined, fitted with a silicone gasket and often laser-marked. Because two materials meet at the neck, thread fit and seal compression are checked at assembly so the lid runs down cleanly and seals.
We can laser-engrave your logo or spice names on the lids, supply printed labels and pack complete rack or gift sets. Ask us for samples with and without the sifter insert.
