Teardrop Chinese Baijiu Bottles

Baijiu, the clear grain spirit of China, is the highest-volume spirit category in the world, and its packaging is unusually ornate because the product is central to gifting, banquets and business occasions. A teardrop or gourd-influenced bottle gives baijiu an elegant, auspicious silhouette — the gourd (hulu) is a traditional symbol of good fortune.

Opal-white 'milk' glass is often used for a porcelain-like premium look, turning the bottle into a ceremonial object that signals respect and status when given as a gift.

Baijiu of various aroma types (sauce, strong, light), premium Chinese spirits, and especially festival, banquet, corporate and business gifting, where presentation carries great weight. The format is common in collector editions, duty-free and for export.

A flowing teardrop or gourd body, made in flint, frosted or opal-white glass. Opal glass is opacified in the batch (with fluorine or phosphate compounds) for the porcelain effect. Necks are finished for a decorative cap, cork or ROPP, frequently with an elaborate overcap, and decoration is rich — heavy screen print, gold hot stamp and embossing.

Baijiu is high-strength and fills cold and inertly. The emphasis is on flawless cosmetic and decoration quality, since these are prestige gift bottles; surfaces, print and the fit of ornate closures are inspected closely. Rigid foam-located gift boxes protect the decorated bottle in transit.

Formed by blow-and-blow; flint bottles use standard batch chemistry while opal glass uses an opacified batch. The flowing body is defined in the blow mold, annealed, then heavily decorated in a decorating lehr. Finishes are gauged for the closure and overcap system.
