Terrazzo-style Glass Liner Cups

Terrazzo — the speckled composite of chips set in a matrix — became a major interiors trend, and home-fragrance design followed. A terrazzo-effect finish on a glass candle cup brings that fashionable, design-led texture to the candle, either as the visible vessel or as a glass liner that holds the wax inside a concrete or ceramic outer.

Using a glass liner is also practical: it gives the wax an inert, heat-appropriate surface to bond to and makes the outer vessel reusable, while the terrazzo finish keeps the look on-trend.

A glass cup with a terrazzo or speckled effect applied over flint or tinted glass, used as a visible vessel or as a wax liner within an outer. The decoration is external; the open mouth and wick are matched to the wax. As a liner, the cup is sized to drop into the outer vessel.

Pour wax warm into a room-temperature cup. As a liner inside a concrete or ceramic outer, the glass gives the candle a consistent, heat-appropriate surface, and correct wicking keeps temperatures safe per candle-safety testing. The terrazzo finish is external and protected from scuffing.

Press-and-blow formed and annealed, then the terrazzo/speckle effect is applied and cured in a decorating lehr. As a liner, fitment dimensions to the outer vessel are checked. Coating evenness, base stability and rim quality are the QC focus.
