Twisted Ice Wine Bottles

Dessert wines are sold in small, premium formats, and a molded spiral twist makes the slim half bottle even more gift-worthy. The twist refracts light passing through the golden wine and adds a tactile, crafted quality, all formed in the glass rather than applied afterward.

It combines two strong cues, the precious small format of dessert wine and a designed bottle, to maximize shelf and gift appeal for a high-value product.

We supply twisted bottles for ice wine, late-harvest and botrytized dessert wines and vin de paille, mostly in 200 ml and 375 ml formats. Flint glass is the usual choice so the deep gold color shows through the spiral, and the bottle is often boxed for gifting. Wineries also use the 100 ml and 187 ml sizes for tasting flights, cellar-door sales and corporate gift sets.

A slim body carries a raised spiral twist and is finished for cork or screw cap. The twist slightly varies wall thickness, so our tooling keeps the wall sound where the relief is deepest. Labels are designed to sit across or between the spiral, depending on the look you want, and a gold capsule finishes the neck for a classic dessert-wine presentation.

Fill cool, with precise fill height in the small format. Sweet wines are sensitive to light and oxidation, so closure quality matters, and flint bottles benefit from boxed or shaded storage. The raised twist takes impact on its high points, so avoid hard glass-to-glass contact on the line and use partitions in the case.

These bottles are formed by blow-and-blow or NNPB in a patterned blow mold that creates the spiral with the body. Even wall thickness through the twist is the forming target, followed by annealing, coating and finish gauging for the chosen closure.

We can add embossing, screen print or custom tints, and supply matching capsules and gift boxes. The spiral can also be developed in other directions or pitches on a custom mold.
