Overview & background
Dipping fingers into a jar of mask or cream introduces bacteria and water that can spoil the product, so brands increasingly pair a wide-mouth jar with a spoon or spatula. Building a slot for that tool into the cap or lid means the applicator is never lost and the hygienic way to use the product is always at hand.
It is a small design idea with a real benefit — cleaner product, longer in-use life and a more considered, spa-like ritual.
